Back to school in style!

Back to school means one thing for most girls:NEW CLOTHES!

So I did all the work for you and went on popular websites and pulled together some first day of school outfits for $50 or less!

American Eagle
Now this was hard. They are pretty expensive so as you can see $50 does not get you much. Also I like very few things from AE. It is kind of a hit or miss for me. I love the boho, live free lifestyle they represent but I only really love their denim and accessories and dresses.

This outfit came to $49.85

Everything here is from the clearance section. I chose the shorts because of the awesome tie-dye effect! It helps play up basics and way cooler than normal denim. The tank is flowy and pretty, reat for summer. It has a neat lace design on the back which I really love.

Forever 21
One of my favorite stores and I'm sure most of you love this place too! I did two outfits using shorts.

This outfit came to $49.80.
I love acid wash! So awesome and way better than plain denim. This tank also has a lace design on the shoulders and back, very feminine and flirty.

This outfit came to $45.40
I fell in love with these shorts! They are cotton not denim. They also come with the belt! Score! The shirt is a basic v-neck (I live in these) and for $6 it beats AA!

You can find so many things at Forever 21 to make a $50 or less outfit and also buy far more than the 5 items I chose for $50. I wanted to make a complete look for you! Your whole back to school wardrobe can come from here and you'll still have money for the movies!

Most of the store's basics start at just $2.50! So it's okay if you get some paint on them during art class.

I would recommend buying from them via the Internet. There is far more to choose from. I like going in the store but most of the things I want are never there or never in my size.

Delias
I used to love this store but haven't bought much from them lately because the prices have skyrocketed! I could barely find a cami for under $15..their highest is $35...for a cami!

This outfit came to $47.47
I found the skirt first and then took colors out of it for the cami and cardi. I wanted it to be really colorful and playful but you could also but a black cami under instead. Everything was in the clearance section except the headband.

Urban Outfitters
Absolutely love UO like most people. They are expensive but their sales make up for that!

This outfit came to $49.60
Everything was in the sales section. I liked keeping it neutral and then added some color with the ring and the gold in the sandal. I wanted to put a heel with it but none fit in the price range and I know I would not walk around campus all day in heels.

Set a budget for yourself this year when back to school shopping. AND STICK TO IT!
I have been one of those people who spend a lot a money of clothes and feel like I bought nothing. Take the time and search the sales. I promise it will be worth it!

On the subject of sales!

It's back to school season!

EVERY SINGLE STORE IS HAVING A BTS SALE!

This also means stores are trying to move fall items in so summer items are being put on sale!

Now I live in Florida so it's summer her for another 2-3 months and we can still get away with wearing shorts and tank tops. If you live in a colder place stock up on some basic summer clothes discard any you've had way to long or do not wear.

Anything and everything is on sale! From clothes to shoes to housewares to beds.

A few of my favorite things that are on sale:
The printed rugs from Urban Outfitters most are 50% off! Great for dorms!

This tank from F21 $8.99 from $17.80

Always has HUNDREDS of items on sale all time!
Right now all JEANS and PANTS are BUY ONE GET 1 50% OFF!
Also if you spend $75 or more you get a free 1-year subscription to Teen Vouge.

Your favorite four letter word.

Lesson ONE:

This may seem like a "duh" piece of advice but...

Make S-A-L-E your new best friend.

Who doesn't love a good sale?! Anyone? Anyone at all?

Most sale items are located in the back of a store...GO THERE FIRST! Put the blinders on and just walk to the back.

Online? Sale links are usually last and sometimes in RED click it before you browse anything else.

If you're just dying for a piece of clothing you saw at the store. DO NOT impulse buy! I repeat DO NOT IMPULSE BUY!
It WILL go on sale I promise you. EVERYTHING GOES ON SALE!

Ask the people working when they expect the item to go on sale. Write it down and come back. Check back a few times a month and in no time the price will be marked down!

My second piece of advice on sales:

JUST BECAUSE IT'S ON SALE DOES NOT MEAN YOU HAVE TO BUY IT!

I am guilty of doing this. I love sales, I adore sales! I buy things because they are on sale! It validates the purchase! Well not anymore! I have taught myself to hold in the urge to buy something just because it's on sale. You should to.

If you're not sure take the item and walk around the store with it. Before you check out ask yourself again if you really need it. If you do, buy it. If not PUT IT BACK!

A Proper introduction before we begin.

The concept for this blog is to help real girls in today's world find something to wear. I for one am a student at a local university and do not have the luxury of buying expensive clothes.

Why should women have to lust over clothes seen in magazines or in stores? We have every right to look as fashionable and as beautiful as possible.

As a teenager I subscribed to countless magazines like Seventeen and Teen Vogue. I was always upset by the style portion of Seventeen where they put together outfits. Some of the clothes cost hundreds which would be fine for more luxurious magazines, but Seventeen? What normal seventeen year old can afford a $58 blouse?!  I found the prices to be insanely expensive and still do.

I want to help teenage girls and young women find inexpensive clothes that are still beautiful and may even be better than the more expensive stuff.

There is no reason to spend so much money on clothing. You don't need to take out another student loan (ermm me) to afford something or take another shift at your job to get that $500 purse you've been dying to have.

Save your money for other things, like a vacation or groceries (coughmecough) or a girls night out.

So I decided with the faith from someone from an awkward position (my gynecologist) to start this blog.

I hope you enjoy it.
